That’s Not a Log?

It’s not your husband’s fault

You’re insecure

You were insecure way before he came around

Were you not

Do you not remember highschool

That is a log

It’s not your wife’s fault you can’t get a job

And keep it

That’s your fault Sir

That also is a log

It’s also not your husband’s fault

You keep spending money you really don’t have

When he is working so hard to make it

That’s your fault

Big log

It’s not your husband’s fault you have no friends

No its your fault

Because you’re not friendly

That’s a log too

Good encouraging friends are a very important part of life

Jesus had friends

And He was God

And you’re not

You need friends

It’s not your wife’s fault you went and bought that big truck in

Your driveway

No

Remember you forgot to talk to her about it

That’s your signature on the doc

Not hers

It’s you who feels insecure if you don’t have the best of the best

Not her

Big log brother

Start pulling the log out of your eye. The sure sign you have one is you think your spouses log is bigger and more of a problem than yours. This was me several years ago. I was blind. Seriously blind. Many of my friends were blind to it too because Darin’s problems were seemingly so much bigger. He had issues!

I am convinced that the reason it took so many years and Darin leaving 5 or 6 times is because I refused to see I had a log in my eye. I think God was up in heaven watching it all play out and said ok Darin go back home…he would come back and I would start in on his “issues” sometimes even being nice about his “issues” and God would say ok Darin you have to leave again she is not getting this. Again and again this happened.

All the years we were struggling in my heart I feel Darin had only a sliver and I was the one with a log?  Why do I say this…If you have a big log in your eye you can’t see. He was never blind to his issues. He never ever said he didn’t have issues. But I was convinced I didn’t have any and thought I was the best wife you could ever have and if I was mean or made a mistake it was his fault because of his issues. I was blind and arrogant.

Take time to read this even if you have read it thousands of times.

Matthew 7:1-5

“Do not juedge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye, when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
